Downing Street spokesperson shared in a statement on Monday that British Prime Minister Keir Starmer spoke briefly on Sunday with United States President Donald Trump. During the call, the two touched on the subject of "progress" on the "economic prosperity deal" between London and Washington.
"The UK is working with the United States on an economic prosperity deal, building on our shared strength of that commitment to economic security ... The UK will only do a deal in the national interest, which reflects this government's mandate to deliver economic stability for British people," the spokesperson remarked.
