United States President Donald Trump on Friday commented on the European Union's decision to lower tariffs on automobiles imported from the US to 2.5%, calling it "nice" while adding that the EU still charges his country "non-monetary" tariffs.
"It's called a non-monetary tariff where they put on controls no matter what happens ... cause they don't want the American car on their market and yet they send us millions of cars. They send us big agriculture, they don't want out agriculture, they don't want anything from us."
The president reiterated that the EU is "very tough" while emphasizing that he wants fair trade relations with the bloc. "Whatever they do to us, we do to them," he concluded.
