Former United States President and Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump's campaign requested additional security measures similar to what a sitting president receives amid growing threats against the former head of state's life that weaken his ability to campaign, NBC News reported on Saturday, citing a source with knowledge of the matter.
According to the report, Trump campaign co-manager Susie Wiles contacted White House Chief of Staff Jeff Zients to urge the administration to approve armored cars, in-flight protection, and temporary airspace restrictions for the GOP nominee.
The alleged demands come after Trump faced two assassination attempts in recent months, in Pennsylvania in July and Florida in September.
