Former United States President Donald Trump filed on Thursday a document in which he informed the Fulton County Supreme Court he may try to take the case in Georgia, which tries his allegedly unlawful efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election in that state, to federal court.

"President Trump hereby notifies the Court that he may seek removal of his prosecution to federal court," Trump's attorney Steven Sadow said in the filing. "To be timely, his notice of removal must be filed within 30-days of his arraignment."

Earlier, it was reported Trump could seek to separate his case from that of his co-defendants after one of them, Kenneth Chesebro, asked for a sped-up process. Meanwhile, the Fulton County Supreme Court announced Chesebro and Sidney Powell's trials will begin on October 23.
