US President Donald Trump is urging Senate Republicans to include a debt ceiling increase in his proposed tax and domestic policy overhaul, Senate Majority Whip John Barrasso said Tuesday.
The issue is expected to resurface during a later-in-the-day White House meeting with top GOP leaders and administration officials.
Barrasso, a Republican from Wyoming, confirmed that Trump wants the debt ceiling raised through the reconciliation bill, a strategy that would allow passage without Democratic support.
