Trump reportedly indicted over attempts to overturn 2020 election

Former United States President Donald Trump has been indicted by a federal grand jury in special counsel Jack Smith's investigation into the former head of state's alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election, Fox News reported.

The charges against him include conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, obstruction of and attempt to obstruct an official proceeding, and conspiracy against rights and, according to CNN, Trump has been informed of the indictment.

The move marks the third time the former president has faced criminal charges, with previous indictments related to a classified documents probe and business fraud.
