United States Donald Trump is weighing the option of lifting sanctions and continuing with the sales of fighter jets to Turkey, Fox News Digital reported on Friday, citing two sources.

According to the report, the US president is considering selling the F-16 fighter jets and potentially its F-35 jets to Turkey, with his administration reportedly looking into ways how to avoid finding Turkey in violation of Countering America's Adversaries Through Sanctions Act (CAATSA) sanctions.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had a talk with his American counterpart on Sunday, where the two leaders discussed bilateral ties, with Erdogan expressing hope that the two countries will increase their cooperation.
