Former United States President Donald Trump said he earlier warned former German Chancellor Angela Merkel about the fact Berlin is getting 72% of its energy from Russia, adding he then said Germany would be surrendering very fast, as, according to history, the two countries have had a lot of issues in the past. The comment was made during the latest rally in Ohio ahead of the autumn midterm elections.
''Who the hell thought it would happen so fast,'' the former president remarked, noting that everybody in Germany was laughing at what he had said at the time, however, ''they don't laugh anymore,'' he added. ''Germany is now returning to old-fashioned things, including coal. But they have no choice. They won't have a country,'' Trump concluded.
