United States President Donald Trump responded to violence against Tesla Inc., saying that CEO Elon Musk is "a patriot" who does everything "for the good of the country."
Trump praised Musk, saying he's done "a very good job, found tremendous waste, fraud and abuse," adding that "he's essentially a patriot" and that "he loves the country." The president added that Musk never asked him for a "favor," even though Trump said he had "plenty of right to," though he clarified that didn't mean he was "gonna do it." "I probably won't, but he's never asked me for a favor," Trump added.
When asked if he thought the recent violence against Tesla had planning or coordination from "billionaires on the left," Trump stated that he believed that "there's some of them that were involved in my trials that were, I think, probably involved with that also."
