Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu confirmed on Wednesday that the proposed meeting with his counterparts from Russia, Iran, and Syria – Sergey Lavrov, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and Faisal Mekdad, respectively – in Moscow is currently being prepared.
"The Russian side has proposed holding a technical meeting next week as a preparation for the meeting of foreign ministers. Our deputy foreign minister will go to Moscow. The Iranian side will also take part in this meeting," Cavusoglu said at a joint press conference with Amir-Abdollahian.
Earlier this week, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov announced his country, Turkey, Iran, and Syria are discussing a potential quadripartite meeting of their foreign ministers in Moscow.
