Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will pay an official visit to Russia from March 31 to April 2, China's Foreign Ministry announced in a statement on Friday.

"During the visit, Foreign Minister Wang Yi will meet with high-ranking Russian leaders and hold talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov," Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Guo Jiakun said at a press briefing.

Meanwhile, the Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed the visit and noted that Wang Yi and Lavrov will meet on April 1 to discuss bilateral relations and geopolitical issues, "including prospects for resolving the crisis around Ukraine."
