Two adult male individuals have been charged with second-degree murder in connection to last week's deadly shooting after the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl parade, CNN reported on Tuesday.
Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker stated that the investigation revealed Lyndell Mays engaged in a verbal altercation with another individual, which later escalated into the shooting incident. Mays and Dominic M. Miller face charges of unlawful weapon use and two counts of armed criminal action. "We seek to hold every shooter accountable for their actions," the prosecutor stressed, noting that the two individuals were not acquainted before the incident occurred.
The shooting left twenty-two people injured and one killed in the incident that occurred during the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl victory parade near Union Station.
