United States President-elect Donald Trump is allegedly considering either Trae Stephens, a partner at Peter Thiel's Founders Fund venture-capital firm, or investor Stephen Feinberg for the the position of deputy secretary of defense.
Stephens co-founded Anduril Industries, one of the leading companies in the field of high-valuation defense-tech startups. Feinberg is the co-chief executive of Cerberus Capital Management, a firm that invested in defense companies, and an avid Trump supporter who led the president-elect's intelligence advisory board during his first term.
Stephens has declined to comment, a spokesperson for Feinberg remarked that he hasn't been offered the job and Trump's spokespeople haven't responded to requests for a comment. The top job of Secretary of Defense has been given to former Fox News commentator and Army veteran, Pete Hegseth.
