UK GDP grows 0.2% in Q2

The gross domestic product (GDP) of the United Kingdom grew 0.2% in the second quarter of 2023 compared to the previous trimester, in line with the previous estimate, according to a report released by the country's Office for National Statistics (ONS) on Friday.

The growth in the April to June period was primarily attributed to the 1.2% rise in the production sector, while the services sector stagnated and construction output increased by 0.3%.

The UK economic growth in the first quarter of 2023 was revised up by 0.2 percentage points to 0.3%. For the entire 2022, the projection was also raised by 0.2 percentage points to 4.3%.
