The United Kingdom's Ministry of Defense revealed in its latest intelligence report on Monday that Russia is "likely struggling" to provide training and in finding officers to command new units upon the country's President Vladimir Putin's decision to mobilize new personnel and bolster its armed forces.
"Putin's unusually rapid acknowledgment of problems highlights the dysfunction of the mobilization over its first week," the intelligence explained, adding that local officials are uninformed of the "exact scope and legal rationale of the campaign."
Previously, the Russian president announced a partial military mobilization in the country amid the rising tensions in the region, warning that Moscow would defend itself with any weapons at its disposal in reaction to the West's "nuclear blackmail" against Russia.
