Eight Chinese military aircraft spotted near Taiwan

Taiwan's defense ministry stated on Monday that eight Chinese military aircraft and nine military vessels were spotted in the vicinity of the island in the past 24 hours.

"8 PLA aircraft and 9 PLAN vessels operating around Taiwan were detected up until 6 a.m. (UTC+8) today," the ministry said, adding that four of the aircraft crossed the median line, entering Taiwan's air defense identification zone (ADIZ).

The ministry said that it "monitored the situation and responded accordingly."
