The British will be affected just like other nations when United States tariffs come into effect on April 2, Business Secretary Jonathan Reynolds told BBC Breakfast on Tuesday.
"From what we understand from the United States, it appears tomorrow there would be no country in the world exempt from the initial announcements," the secretary admitted, despite initial hope that an agreement on special treatment could have been reached with Washington. He noted the historically balanced trade relationship and the extensive groundwork laid between the two countries but underscored that he still expects tariffs to be applied to United Kingdom goods, echoing the sentiment from Downing Street.
