Officials from the United Kingdom government suggested that Ukraine will soon be allowed to use Storm Shadow cruise missiles against Russian targets, according to The Guardian on Wednesday.
"Wednesday's joint visit to Kiev by [United States Secretary of State Antony] Blinken and [United Kingdom Foreign Secretary David] Lammy to meet [Ukrainian President Volodymyr] Zelensky would not be taking place had there been no positive decision regarding Storm Shadow," the newspaper said quoting sources and adding that the decision is unlikely to be publicly revealed not even during UK's Prime Minister Starmer's upcoming meeting with US President Biden in Washington on September 13.
Earlier during the day, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha urged for the removal of all restrictions on using US and UK weapons against Russia. Despite his call, it is expected that limitations will remain in place to prevent reckless missile use.
