The United Kingdom's government said on Wednesday that it saw "positive progress" during trade talks with the United States that were held from July 27 to August 7, 2020.
Most chapters are in the advanced stage of negotiation and "text-based discussions" were covered in great detail for sections on Intellectual Property and Rules of Origin, as reported by Downing Street. In the parallel meetings held between UK International Trade Secretary Liz Truss (pictured) and the United States Trade Representative Ambassador Robert Lighthizer, Truss confirmed the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) as UK's priority, while both sides emphasized their commitment to the negotiations.
The talks for the third and fourth negotiation rounds are expected to take place in early September.
