Permanent Representative of Morocco to the United Nations Office in Geneva Omar Zniber took the win, garnering 30 votes out of the total 47. The threshold needed was 24.
His opponent was Permanent Representative of South Africa to the United Nations Office in Geneva Mxolisi Nkosi, who obtained 17 votes.
