The United Nations Security Council will hold an emergency meeting on Tuesday after a deadly Israeli airstrike in Rafah, Gaza, according to AFP, citing unnamed diplomats.

Algeria, a non-permanent member of the council, requested the closed-door meeting aiming to address the escalating violence and its impact on civilians in Gaza.
