Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations Gilad Erdan called on Sunday for an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) over Iran's latest actions against the country.

In a letter to the current head of UNSC from Malta, Erdan said that he should "convene a meeting of the Security Council immediately to unequivocally condemn Iran for these grave violations and immediately act to designate the IRGC as a terrorist organization."

The UNSC president accepted the request, with the meeting to be held later today at 4 pm ET.
