The United States government remains "deeply concerned" about Turkey's threat to conduct operations in northern Syria, United States National Security Strategic Communications Coordinator John Kirby (pictured) said Friday.
By doing that, continued Kirby, Ankara would "basically be destabilizing" the area, which is why the Biden administration has been sharing its concerns with Turkish officials.
The remarks of the White House representative come after United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken advised Turkey in early June against launching a military operation in Syria. Meanwhile, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said last Thursday he expects Iran and Russia to support the operations in that country.
