United States Department of State "strongly condemned" on Friday the recent attack on the country's embassy in Baghdad, Iraq.

It further called on the Iraqi Security Forces to immediately conduct an investigation, detain those responsible for the strike, and "bring them to justice." Earlier, US National Security Council (NSC) Strategic Communications Coordinator John Kirby told reporters that Washington is ready to protect itself.
