Washington and China have agreed on Monday to launch a platform for export control information exchange, the former's Ministry of Commerce said in a statement.

Following a meeting between United States Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo and Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao, the ministry noted that this platform will allow China to share its worries, while also helping minimize misunderstandings of policies the US puts forth.

The first meeting of the Export Control Group is taking place on August 29 in Beijing.
