The United States House of Representatives passed on Thursday the GOP's budget resolution, made to advance US President Donald Trump's "big, beautiful bill," with a 216-214 vote.
Despite initially having to delay the vote due to a lack of support, US House Speaker Mike Johnson managed to gather enough votes to pass the resolution, with only two Republicans, Representative Thomas Massie and Victoria Spartz, voting against the budget framework. Massie was also the only Republican to vote against the budget resolution in February, which was passed with a similarly narrow margin.
Trump congratulated the House on passing the bill, stating that it will set the stage for "one of the Greatest and Most Important Signings in the History of our Country," including the "Largest Tax and Regulation Cuts ever even contemplated."
