US, Israel said to discuss Iran nuclear issue next week

A senior Israeli delegation is set to visit the White House early next week for high-level talks on Iran, Axios reported on Thursday, citing Israeli and US officials.

Israeli Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer and National Security Advisor Tzachi Hanegbi will lead the delegation, joined by senior security and diplomatic officials. The meetings will be held with a US team led by National Security Adviser Mike Waltz, alongside representatives from the State Department, Pentagon, and intelligence agencies. Discussions are expected to focus on Iran's nuclear program and potential negotiations between Washington and Tehran.

Previously, reports also from Axios showed that US President Donald Trump had sent a letter in March to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, setting a two-month deadline for a new nuclear deal. If Tehran does not engage, the risk of military action against Iranian nuclear sites by the US or Israel could rise significantly.
