US, S. Korea, Japan to discuss N. Korea's ICBM launch

United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken, South Korean Foreign Minister Park Jin and Japanese Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi will discuss North Korea's latest missile launch on the sidelines of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) summit on Friday, South Korea's Yonhap reported. Pyongyang announced it tested an intercontinental ballistic missile on Tuesday and vowed to carry out a "series of stronger military offensives."

According to unnamed sources, Park could also meet China's Director of the Office of the Central Foreign Affairs Commission Wang Yi. The South Korean diplomat is expected to use the summit as an opportunity to stress the importance of a unified international response to North Korea's nuclear threat.
