US announces $500M in new military aid for Ukraine

United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced a $500 million military aid package for Ukraine to help it counter ongoing Russian attacks.

The assistance includes counter-drone munitions, HIMARS rocket launcher ammunition, artillery rounds, anti-radiation missiles, unmanned aerial systems and anti-armor. The package also provides mine-resistant ambush-protected vehicles (MRAPs), humvees, chemical protection gear, small arms, grenades and training equipment.

The package builds on earlier US military aid announcements of $725 million and $988 million.
