The United States State Department has given the go-ahead on Monday for a potential sale of "advanced medium range air-to-air missiles to Singapore, valued at $133 million, Pentagon announced in a statement.

"This proposed sale will support the foreign policy goals and national security objectives of the United States by improving the security of a major non-NATO Ally that is a force for political stability and economic progress in Southeast Asia," the Pentagon added.

The US stressed that the principal contractor for the potential sale will be RTX Corp.
