The United States Bureau of Fiscal Service said in its Monthly Treasury Statement on Friday that the country's budget deficit was equal to $429.7 billion in September.
Total monthly receipts in the United States amounted to $488 billion, with $228 billion coming from individual income taxes and $127 billion from social insurance and retirement.
Total monthly outlays in the country came in at $917 billion, the majority coming from education at $449 billion and Medicare and Social Security, both at $104 billion, followed by National Defense at $81 billion.
