US downs another object over Lake Huron

United States on Sunday grounded another high-altitude flying object flying over its territory, Representative Jack Bergman confirmed.

The lawmaker and retired Marine Corps lieutenant general said he had been in contact with the Department of Defence regarding its operation in the Great Lakes region. "The American people deserve far more answers than we have," he said about the "decommissioned" object, praising the "decisive" action of US fighter pilots.

The object downed on Sunday was the fourth in the past two weeks and according to reports, there was no indication that it was a threat to anything on the ground. It was shaped like an octagon and flew at 20,000 feet with no discernible payload, AFP reported, citing a senior US official.
