US education secy wants Congress to aid in dept closing

United States Education Secretary Linda McMahon stated during an interview on Fox News that she plans to "work in conjunction with Congress" to eliminate the Department of Education.

"I can tell you we know that the task ahead certainly has some hurdles, but what my desire is, and what I'm going to be working to do, is to work in conjunction with Congress," McMahon said, adding that she wanted Congress "to be a partner in this and I believe they will be."

Earlier, US President Donald Trump signed an executive order targeting the elimination of the department "as quickly as possible."
