Israel is considering military strikes on Iran's nuclear sites in 2025, according to a US intelligence assessment cited by The Wall Street Journal.
The report, completed in the final days of the Biden administration, warns that Israel sees a narrowing window to act before Iran advances its nuclear program. Officials familiar with the analysis told the media outlet that Israeli leaders viewed President Donald Trump as more likely than his predecessor to support an attack. A follow-up intelligence report, presented after Trump took office, reaffirmed Israel's intent to act against Iran's consideration of strikes. Military experts noted that due to the complexity of the targets, Israel might require US assistance to carry out the operation
The reports come after Trump dismissed claims that the US and Israel planned to "blow Iran into smithereens" as "greatly exaggerated" but suggested he would accept Israeli action if no nuclear deal was reached. Meanwhile, Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi called any attack on its nuclear sites a "big mistake."
