The Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) announced on Friday two separate reviews addressing trade issues. One focuses on evaluating China's compliance with the Economic and Trade Agreement between Washington and Beijing. This review will assess whether China is meeting its obligations and examine any practices that might disadvantage US businesses.
Separately, the USTR will also review other foreign trade practices considered "unfair" to the United States, "including those practices that may be unreasonable or discriminatory and that may burden or restrict United States commerce," the statement showed.
These initiatives underscore the country’s commitment under the new administration to ensuring fair trade and enforcing agreements.
