US opens higher after yesterday's tech earnings

Stock markets in the United States opened with gains on Friday following strong earnings reports by Amazon and Intel after the closing bell yesterday. Today, Chevron and Exxon released their quarterly figures. The much-anticipated nonfarm payrolls report for October also came out, although its findings were impacted by Hurricanes Helene and Milton, resulting in a very low figure of 12,000 jobs added in a month.

The Dow Jones grew by 0.45% as Amazon surged 6.80%. The Nasdaq 100 improved by 0.32%, led by Atlassian Corp. PLC, which skyrocketed 18.48%. The S&P 500 added 0.41% at 9:30 am ET, with Waters Corp. soaring 15.58%.

The euro traded 0.12% lower compared to the dollar, selling for 1.08711 at 9:31 am ET.
