Major stock indexes in the United States started the trading session on Wednesday with gains after the Bureau of Labor Statistics revealed that annual inflation in the country stood at 3.3% in May, down from 3.4% observed in April. Additionally, market participants geared up for the Federal Reserve's monetary policy decision due to be announced later in the day. The central bank is largely expected to keep interest rates unchanged once again.
The Dow Jones climbed by 0.91% or 353 points at open, as Home Depot Inc. gained 3.87%. The Nasdaq 100 added 0.77%, with Intuit Inc. increasing by 3.26%. The S&P 500 improved by 0.85%, and Oracle Corp. surged 9.5%.
The euro gained 0.84% compared to the dollar at 9:28 am ET, selling at $1.08308.
