US opens higher amid housing, consumer data

Wall Street traded higher at the market open on Tuesday as a fresh batch of economic reports was released. Two new releases showed that house prices increased in January, with figures on new home sales for February and consumer confidence for March still to come.

The Dow Jones gained 0.27% at 9:31 am ET with the Walt Disney Co up by 0.68%. The Nasdaq 100 grew by 0.16% as Lululemon Athletica Inc. jumped 2.93%. The S&P 500 increased by 0.20%, led by the International Paper Co. at 3.16%.

The euro traded 0.21% higher compared to the dollar at 9:32 am ET and sold for 1.08233.
