Personal consumption expenditures (PCE) in the United States saw a monthly rise of 0.2% or $48.3 billion in August, slightly lower than predicted, the country's Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) disclosed in its report published on Friday.
The PCE price index increased by 0.1% month-on-month and 2.2% year-on-year. Excluding food and energy, the figure moved up by 0.1% on a monthly basis and 2.7% on an annual one.
Personal income went up by 0.2% or $50.5 billion compared to the previous month. Meanwhile, disposable personal income (DPI) grew by 0.2% or $34.2 billion.
