White House Coordinator for the Indo-Pacific Kurt Campbell (pictured) announced Friday that the United States army will conduct new air and maritime transits in the Taiwan Strait in the coming weeks.

Campell told reporters that China "overreacted" to Pelosi's visit last week. "Its actions continue to be provocative, destabilizing, and unprecedented," he added.

Besides, and in line with the current relations with Taiwan, the administration will approve an "ambitious roadmap for trade negotiations" soon. In this sense, the Biden administration continues to "deepen ties" with the island.
