Ukraine denies Zelensky will travel to Japan for G7

The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine issued an official announcement on Friday to confirm President Volodymyr Zelensky will participate in the Group of Seven (G7) summit via a video link.

"President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy will take part in the G7 leaders' meeting in Japan online," the statement reads, without giving further details.

Several media previously reported citing sources close to the Ukrainian government that the leader will arrive in Hiroshima on Sunday to attend the conference in person.
