Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov said on Wednesday that, due to the West's supplying of long-rage weapons to Kiev, the objectives of Moscow's military operations have expanded beyond the Donbas region.

"(The military operation) is far from being only the DPR and LPR, it is also the Kherson region, the Zaporizhzhia region and a number of other territories, and this process continues, and continues consistently and persistently," he underlined.

Lavrov added that Moscow cannot allow "a part of Ukraine that Zelensky, or whoever replaces him, control to pose a direct threat" to Russian territory and the territory of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics.
