The conflict in Ukraine, and the need to get the warring sides to fully engage in ceasefire talks, was the main topic of the call between Chinese President Xi Jinping and United States' head of state Joe Biden, a readout of the call published by China's state-owned Xinhua news agency showed on Friday.
Xi has also stated that Washington has an inaccurate image of what China's strategic interests are, and urged the US side not to "mishandle" the Taiwan issue.
According to China's view of the talks, both sides characterized the call as "constructive."
