Ukrainian grain cargo ship passes through Bosphorus

A Ukrainian ship carrying grain passed a joint Turkish, Russian, Ukrainian, and United Nations inspection and went through the Bosphorus Strait in Istanbul on Wednesday. The Sierra Leone-flagged ship departed from the port of Odessa in Ukraine two days ago and arrived through the Black Sea in Istanbul yesterday.

Exports are expected to increase, with three ships leaving Ukrainian ports each day, instead of one. In July, Russia and Ukraine signed an agreement in Turkey to make sure that exports abroad continue amid the war.

The ship named Razoni marks the first delivery to pass the inspection since the Russian invasion of Ukraine started on February 24.
