UnitedHealth subsidiary CEO allegedly shot dead

UnitedHealth Group Incorporated's UnitedHealthcare Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Brian Thompson was fatally shot in the chest in Manhattan, the New York Post reported on Wednesday.

According to the publication's sources, a masked man shot at Thompson outside the New York Hilton Midtown Manhattan Hotel at 6:46 am ET. The police told the newspaper the attack seems to be pre-planned.

The businessman reportedly succumbed to wounds at the hospital he was taken to.
