Up to 40,000 Russian troops out of action in Ukraine - report

As many as 40,000 Russian troops have been killed, wounded, taken prisoner or are missing since the start of the conflict in Ukraine, the Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday, citing a senior NATO official.

The military officer said the data was collected from the Ukrainian government, as well as from information coming from Russia and from open sources. The Ukrainian government claimed earlier today that Russia has lost 15,600 personnel since February 24.
