European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said on Thursday that the European Union "counts on China not to provide military equipment directly or indirectly to Russia," warning that it would be in violation of international law and would "significantly harm our relationship."
Following her meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Von der Leyen said the EU and China agreed to resume high-level economic and trade dialogue and high-level digital dialogue and hoped the first meetings will be held soon. She said she also discussed the issue of Taiwan with Xi, saying that "no one should unilaterally change the status quo by force in this region" and that any tensions should be resolved by dialogue.
