Vance: No plans to send US troops to Greenland

United States Vice President JD Vance expressed confidence to the media on Friday that military intervention won't be required in Greenland. Yet, US President Donald Trump has refused to rule out the possibility of using armed forces to acquire control of the Arctic island.

"We do not think that military force is ever going to be necessary. We think this makes sense. Because we think that people of Greenland are rational and good, we think we will be able to cut a deal, Donald Trump style," he said at the Pituffik Space Base in northwest Greenland.

"We hope that they choose to partner with the US because we're the only nation on earth that will respect their sovereignty and respect their security, because their security is very much our security," Vance added.
