The Venezuelan government has granted a 30-year license to Shell plc and the National Gas Company (NGC) of Trinidad and Tobago for gas production, state oil company PDVSA said on Friday.
The development comes after Venezuela, Shell and NGC signed the official agreement and also following the US approval granted in January.
According to the country's vice-president, Delcy Rodriguez, this project "marks a historic moment" and has the "purpose of empowering" Venezuela "as a gas exporter."
