Virgin Galactic announced on Thursday it is going to refurbish its spacecraft VSS Unity, which will push the launch of its mission Unity 23 to at least the middle of 2022.
The company said that the recent testing of the vehicle "flagged a possible reduction in the strength margins of certain materials used to modify specific joints," which needs "further physical inspection." The refurbishment will last about eight months.
Virgin Galactic previously moved the test flight of Unity to the middle of this October at the earliest.
